Man Seriously Injured In Crash
Just after midnight last night, a single vehicle crash in Rapides Parish has left a man in serious condition.
Troopers responded to the crash around 12:05 am, which occurred on US Hwy 71 south of Cheneyville, LA. The crash involved a 2005 Nissan pickup, driven by Harris J. Turner III (W/M 24 yrs) of Bunkie, LA. The Nissan was southbound on US Hwy 71 when Turner III lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle traveled down a steep ditch embankment and collided with a culvert.
Turner III was not wearing his seatbelt and alcohol usage is suspected. He was transported to Rapides General Hospital for treatment.
He was charged with Careless Operation, DWI 1st, and No Seatbelt. Toxicology tests are pending.
