Glenmora Man Seriously Injured In Crash

Early last night, a single vehicle crash in Rapides Parish has left the driver seriously injured. Several factors contributed to the crash and the extent of injuries sustained.

Troopers responded to the crash around 9:00 pm, which occurred on Bayou Road near Cheneyville, LA. The crash involved a 1996 Ford Thunderbird, driven by Jamie L. Ray (W/M 20 yrs) of Glenmora, LA. The Ford was south bound on Bayou Road at a high rate of speed when Ray lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a utility pole and then a tree.

Ray was not wearing his seatbelt and was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center. Alcohol usage is suspected.

The crash remains under investigation. Toxicology tests are pending.

Ray was charged with DWI 1st, Reckless Operation, and No Seatbelt.
