The plan review section of the Fire Marshal's office reviews approximately 15,000 projects per year representing over 4 billion construction dollars. We review plans for compliance with the states fire protection and life safety codes, the handicapped accessibility laws, codes, rules and regulations and the states adopted energy code. Because of the scope of enforcement responsibilities and the volume of construction work, there is an inherent backlog. Our goal is to review your project within eight to ten working days. However, actual review times will depend on the states construction economy and volume of work received at a particular time. We are dedicated to reviewing your project as timely as possible with the staff resources we have available.
